Sweet Blue: A Giveaway!

Hey guys – remember how just last week (or the week before – I blame my unreliable memory on age – or my plethora of children – or the air – or whatever) I had this really great little giveaway?

So many of you responded and sadly, only one of you could win.  (Meaghan placed an order already – I was thrilled to hear that!  And she already has her shea soaps and whatnot is enjoying them!)

Anyway – the giveaway was all so much fun that I figured – if the first giveaway is a good time – then surely a second giveaway will be a good time too!

So here we go – a new giveaway for my favorite readers.  (I’m not just saying that – you guys are legitimately my favorite readers.  You could be reading any of the millions of blogs out there – and yet, you take time to read my hit or miss words regularly.  You matter to me.  Really.)

You know how much I love my framily.  (And you can bet I’m pretty irritated that Sprint has stolen my phrase and is touting it around like their own original idea!)

And they are all such talented people.  (My framily – not Sprint.)

Do you remember the days when Piper Finnian was sporting this little wonder of a hat every winter?

Actually - she STILL wears it. It's as if it has grown with her head.

Sarah made that hat.  (And scads of other beautiful ones.)   Sarah was actually the reason behind my very first ever giveaway.  (Which was a surprising four years ago!)

And now Sarah has opened a new Etsy site called Sweet Blue.

I love supporting Etsy and I love supporting hand made, small business, family-run operations.  I love supporting a person and not The Man.

And I love supporting Sarah.  She’s like us, you know.  She’s a mom to two handsome boys.  She loves her husband and her family and Jesus and she works hard to maintain a balance between her passions for art and fitness and creativity and her passion for loving her sons and her husband and her friends well.  She’s a good balancer and she makes beautiful things and we all know the daily challenge of that struggle.  It’s a language most of us speak.  It’s the air we all breathe as mothers.  And that’s worth honoring and supporting.

You will love the chance to browse her Sweet Blue shop.

It’s filled with handmade bow ties that are too adorable for all your too-adorable bow-tie-needing moments.

I mean - look how cute!

There are sweet canvases with lovely quotes on them that I can guarantee would look fabulous on any wall space at your home.

Like these!

The onesies with their clever designs are so cute that I almost want to have another baby to justify purchasing them.

Especially that arrow one.

Almost.  No worries here, friends.  Instead – I can just buy them as baby shower gifts.  That’s a much wiser – and more husband-approved – idea anyway.

But maybe you have a baby needing a cute onesie.  Or a friend with a baby.  You know.

Or maybe you need a wedding gift.

I'd love to receive these as a gift! I am already married - so not as a wedding gift of course. But maybe just as a life gift. Do people give those? Life gifts? They should.

Or maybe just an inspiring word to hang in the bedroom of your daughter where she can be reminded of truth every day.  (Or to hang in your own room.)

I think this is just lovely.

There’s a lot of good stuff in the shop – and Sarah is adding more all the time.

But I imagine by now you are thinking – Yes – it’s wonderful.  What do I win?

Okay – I’ll tell you.

You win a bow tie and a hair ribbon of your choice!

This will a difficult decision.

(Ah – the freedom of choice – it’s a lovely gift, isn’t it?)

The bow ties and hair ribbons are all featured there.  (The bow ties are the larger ones.)

And you can pick – your prize can either coordinate or you can pick two separate colors for the little cute kiddos in your life.

You enter by leaving a comment.  You can just say hi or tell me about your love of chicken noodle soup or explain how frequently you shop through Etsy or why you dislike Wal-Mart.  I’m making it that easy for you today!

Sweet Blue has a Facebook page that you can like for an additional entry.  (Just be sure to let me know you liked the page so I can count you in.)

I can’t wait to see who wins these wonderful accessories.

I’ll keep this one open until Tuesday of next week and then I’ll pull out the old coffee mug (or other handy receptacle) and make it all official by drawing a winner!

 Good luck!

I got a little excited about the mention of another Keiglet. I just can’t help it. You know I love kids.
Also, I would like to pick your brain and gain wisdom from your experiences with chickens and rabbits.
Finally, I read your post earlier. I still think of you on a very frequent basis when it comes to moms and appreciate mine more because of you. And your thoughts and feelings became all too close and scary when my mom was so sick over the holidays. When she finally came home from the hospital, I was so thankful for the work of serving and caring for her. Perspective. It can be hard but also so good.

Perspective can be just that – and is usually – both hard and good. 🙂

You can pick my brain -we sure do have a lot of failures from which to share knowledge. As soon as summer comes and your days are wild and free (!) let’s have a hang out session – your new pad or my old one. 🙂

    Sweet items!!! So talented.
I’m liking her page and hoping for a cute little bow tie for a mama-to-be of a little boy soon!! =)

Hi Lacey! These are all so cute! I have a certain little grandson, Mason, who I’d love to get the baseball bow tie for! And I’m sure his mom would happily wear the hair ribbon when they go to the Angels games!
I checked out, and “liked” her FB page. She has so many neat things! I think Etsy is great, and I agree: local, hand made, family owned businesses are the way to go! I love to support them and give THEM my money 🙂
I do NOT like going to Walmart. However, it’s my 90 year old father’s favorite place to shop…so at this point I take him there for his shopping…to honor him 😉

Yes – I think Mason is just the right kind of kid who needs bow ties – and plenty of them!

I really don’t like Wal-Mart either. They just aren’t the best store to service the needs/requests/likes of my family.

And, sadly, every employee appears to have just been dumped by their significant other – and that is always somehow my fault when it comes time for them to help me locate the lemon juice.

Hmmm…I don’t like Wal Mart because it is big and impersonal and so much of it arrived in a container from China. I am getting so that I do not like Lowe’s for the same reason although the personnel is generally friendlier. I was really reminded of the Lowe’s aversion when I stopped by a small family run nursery for some plants this week. The plants were so much nicer and cheaper and I had a very helpful conversation with the owner about keeping squirrels out of my pots on my deck.

    • laceykeigley

I’m so with you on Wal-Mart.

      And I’m certain you’re right about Lowe’s – it’s all giant!

Can I tell you that I miss you and want fall to come so I can see you all again? And that I am excited for Sarah and love the new stuff? And that I really do hate Walmart?

    3 things:
    1) I thought I already liked the Facebook page but looks like I hadn’t..so now I just did.
    2) I didn’t know those were hair ribbons, I thought they were just smaller bow ties.
    3) I want to win said hair ribbon!!
Oh and one more thing, I want a boy ASAP so he can wear those bow ties.

    • laceykeigley

      1. I’m glad I could make certain you liked your cousin’s facebook page. 🙂
      2. I know – the hair ribbons are SO cute.
      3. See number two.
      4. And – as for the other thing – you should probably work something out with Brian for this one.
