endless. the questions are.
I’ve asked questions before. I love them, you know.
So this is my current line of thoughts tonight . . . .
Here’s what I want to know:
How do you parent 18?
Why does my two year old love the word “no”?
What’s the right response to a letter written by my eight year old that says “I don’t think you really love me” because I disciplined her?
Why is it so hard to find one free night a week to have all the siblings cook dinner together?
Is there any parent worse at the art of potty training than I am?
What if her face really froze like this?
Who taught our dog to tear our clothes off the clothesline?
Is there anything better than seeing your once-hesitant writer boldly putting messages in her own handwriting on the family calendar?
What makes every member of our family treat our bedroom as the hall closest?
Who’s eating all of our apples?
Why doesn’t Criss Angel wear a shirt?
How is that guy even a pseudo-celebrity anyway?
Is it really possible to use a gentle kind voice with your children constantly?
Why is gas so blame expensive?
Am I the only one who feels continually out of time?
Did you know that Starbucks is having some kind of half priced drink special every afternoon this week?
How do you reign in your expectations and enjoy the days as they occur?
Can a person alter their bodies to survive on four hours of sleep nightly?
Has there been a blanket more well-loved than this one?

Love the questions . . . . and the completely expected lack of answers : ) !!

1. Hmm. Can't help you on the out of time one. I can't figure out where my days go. Sometimes I feel like I haven't really done anything tangible and then it's 10:00pm. Seems we kept missing each other todayI. I do want to chat with you more often and I picked today to start that. You're welcome.
2. Starbucks has half off drinks every afternoon if you purchase a beverage in the morning and show your receipt when you return.
3. Um, I wish gas wasn't so expensive. I want to come see you and Emma more often, but the price of gas is stopping me! argh!
4. So, one of my good friends works in a preschool and she goes to developmental conferences every so often. She told me that kids this little when told no or not to do something, they can't get the image in their brain of what TO do, so they do what they're not to do. Make sense. I tried a different approach with Row today. I asked him if he was supposed to do a certain thing and he said no, so I then told him to get down or whatever. And he listened and actually did what I said to do. It was amazing. Not sure if this is the answer you were getting at, but thought I would share.
5. I love you.

Why does what is unexpected make you unhappy?
Sleep is necessary but you’d be surprised what you can do. Look into polyphasic sleep systems.
