I Heart Productivity
Do you know what I really appreciate?
Productive Saturdays that feel slow and enjoyable.
It might seem like an oxymoron but sometimes, some days, it really happens.
And last Saturday it happened at our house.
The day just felt long – in the best way possible.
I took the bigger kids to Lowe’s to complete their first Build and Grow project while Kevin enjoyed some Otto-Daddy time before Kevin had to go film a wedding.
And the kids walked away with cute aprons, a fun patch and the sweetest little terrariums.
A home I finally glued that bottom wooden piece of our staircase into place after four months of it falling off daily.
And then I started a slew of decoupaging crafts.
I just love decoupaging things. It’s a sickness.
I decoupaged the final “E” in the wall collection of Bergen’s name that I have been trying to finish for months.
And after I finished decoupaging, I hung up a new little shelf in the bathroom and lined up these bathroom items in a tidy row.
The kids and I unpacked about three leftover boxes in the barn and discovered a long lost friend of my youth.
And we also unearthed a stash of kid toys from childhood and the kids were entertained for literally hours playing with old smurfs, outdated weebles and Princess Leah.
And before I left that old barn filled with a small stack of remaining unopened boxes, I had Mosely spray paint a weathered star red and used a rickety rake to hang that star on the side of said barn.
It only seems right that my productive day would end with the placement of a star.
