love. in all its many forms.
It’s not all glamorous.
Oh, actually, it’s hardly ever glamorous.
Guarantee it would not make the cover of any glossy magazine.
But here’s to the many ways love is shown at our house.
Quietly refilling Mommy’s empty glass with ice and water because you know she loves drinking cold water all day long.
Keeping the towels clean and folded so Kevin does not have to touch them straight from the dryer.
Riley unloading the dishwasher every morning before she leaves for school.
Kevin leaving the best tweezers at home when he attends business trips.
Handwritten notes in crayon slid under the door of Daddy’s office.
Wrapping up your favorite stuffed animal as a birthday gift because you noticed your friend plays with it every time she visits.
Leaving a note for each day you will be on a business trip because you know that words are the language your wife hears best.
Cleaning out the coffee filter at night so your husband’s coffee making procedure will go smoothly in the a.m.
Keeping the fridge stocked with Italian Sweet Cream.
Sliding two Cadbury eggs into the hands of your wife.
Giving Mommy one of only four dollars that you have been saving for months because you overheard her say she needed money for something.
Together doing the smelly work of cleaning up a bed full of vomit at 2 in the morning.
Holding hands with your baby brother.
Who needs the Vanity Fair variety of love when your house is exploding with all of this kind of affection?
And you?
And your house?
What does love look like there?

Having a dry towel hanging by the shower every time I get out, him setting a timer every morning so I dont have to deal with a clock,
Me , having his dinner ready at precisely 5:45 so he can come in and sit down and eat and not have to deal with any of the preparations, Spending the day shoveling gravel for my mother in law, because she loves us unconditionaly and makes us dinner every Sunday and never ask for anything!
Erick overpaying amber to do his laundry or clean the bathroom because she needs money! ALways going in the kids room to kiss them goodnight even though they are full grown adults. Always telling each other we love each other on the phone before we hang up. Amber spending her Saturday at the house while Im gone so my dog doesnt have to be alone for long periods of time. ALways knowing that my family has my back. Even when I may not be right, I know they support me.!

You know – I love your family.
You are blessed.
I have always loved the way you and Willy show love to each other.
It makes my heart happy.

Your family sets the example for "love". I respect, honor, and cherish every experience with you all. I strive to love as you do.
Keep being wonderful.

You are too kind Jesse Wickstrum.
And maybe deluded – we're not all that!
But we love you so much too.

Lacey, you may not be perfect, but your belief, faith, and actions show your effort to be that which you seek. It is truly laudable.

I love this post!
Packing my husband's lunch for him, making sure I put extra mustard on his sandwiches even though I think that's gross.
Letting my four year old eat marshmallows in his room pretending to roast them over a campfire
while we sit on the floor in a circle with his stuffed animals.
My husband and kids tip toeing down the stairs in the morning so mommy can sleep in.
My little boy "reading" books to his baby sister.

Those are the real things – aren't they?
