Five Finds Friday (puppy. black leggings. muu muus. apple cider.)

All week long this country song has been playing in my head.

We visited Denver Downs, a family farm with pumpkins, a corn maze and more, this week with friends and had a really great time exploring the farm and enjoying its quirky and fun and creative play options.

(We divided into two teams to complete the corn maze and both teams finished at the exact same time!)

What was funny was to see these big kids on these oversized trikes riding around in circles.

I was also reminded that big kids love to play too.

Last night was foggy and damp and I was taking my turn walking the puppy outside.

I looked back and could see my home, glowing warm, through the fog.

The picture was blurry but I took it anyway.

You can almost see the flames of my fake little fire insert that I love so much.

My square footage is not immense. Three of my kids share the same bedroom. I can’t fit an island in my kitchen.

But my home is warm and cozy and inviting and it’s safe and good and I’m so incredibly happy there.

I don’t know my future. But I’m pretty content with large portions of my right now.

Sadly, our bottle is all gone so I must wait until my next Trader Joe’s excursion.

I ordered this dress from Gap. (On sale, with rewards points. Why do I need to justify? I don’t. I just like good deals.)

Anyway.

On me it looks a little too muu muu. (Did you know that muu muus are originally from Hawaii?)

But it has pockets and it is exceedingly comfortable so, muu muu or not, I’m keeping it.

I’ll be wearing it with my Frye boots because I’m a grown up and I can do what I want to do.

In other fashion news, also as a grown up, I own several pairs of black leggings. Maybe three. And today I could find zero of my own pairs of black leggings. Zero. And none of my daughters claim to know where those leggings might be. Those essential black leggings. So – send me your favorite black leggings options. I want two pair – one that is more durable, the almost-pants variety. And then one pair not as thick (but not see through) without the thick lines down the legs to wear under skirts.
