Plus Plus (A Thanksgiving Version): A Timberdoodle Review
This is a review post. I was given this item by Timberdoodle in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are for sure and for certain my own.
I wish I could remember when I first heard about Plus Plus. But, like all sorts of important facts and needless numbers, that detail has slipped from my mind.
All I know is, my kids love them. From big to old, from grandchildren (!) to teens, these little bitty square ish shapes are a big deal.
They’re not Legos and they’re not Perler beads. (Thank goodness they are not Perler beads. Oh my word – how I have had a continual love/hate relationship with those little beads. But that’s another blog post so let me refocus.)
Plus Plus are open ended. You can create gobs of things with them. Flat shapes. 3D objects. Little buildings. Truly – you name it. I think the open ended nature of Plus Plus is exactly why these are universally appealing.
Plus (you like that? plus?) – these are QUIET PLAY toys. Every mom in the world knows the value of that. We’ve got a basket of Plus Plus sitting in the living room and I’d say just about every time I am reading a novel out loud, some kid is messing with these. And – it’s fun because an adult can enjoy them and a three year old has fun and a sixteen year old joins in. Not many gadgets/toys/do-dads can say the same.
Timberdoodle has a really cute set available currently – it’s Thanksgiving-themed.
You can follow the directions included and make a turkey. And after that – you can make whatever you want.
How fun would it to be to buy a few of these for the kids coming to your Thanksgiving table? What a great distraction as you’re waiting for the turkey to cook and the mashed potatoes to mash themselves.
Plus (I did it again – who could resist?) – I just recently found out that the manufacturer of these little magical shapes lives in my town. What? That has zero to do with this review, but I thought it was an cool extra detail.
This particular turkey set is a mini-maker set. You can also buy various sized tubes of mix and match Plus Plus.
You can order your own Mini Maker Turkey Plus Plus right here at Timberdoodle.
By the way – I used this particular Plus Plus set in my house as an “incentive tool”. Yeah, sure – a bribe. Whatever. It went to the kid with the most impressively made bed one morning.

They live in your town? That’s very cool!

They really are the meeting point between LEGO bricks and Perler beads – nice description!
