selfishness – another site.
I was looking at some random blogs the other day
and I was overwhelmed at the cuteness out there in blog world.
(Or whatever it’s called.)
And then I started thinking about myself.
And about how I like to think that I do not think about myself all the time
when
in fact
apparently
I do.
I thought I had a pretty cute blog.
And it’s alright, you know.
But . . .
comparatively speaking . . .
man – I have some weak spots.
I could use a little bit of glitter and glam.
A little eye candy I guess.
I like simple.
I do.
And I am a writer but not a graphic designer.
But I was so drawn in by
the color-coordinated blog.
The plaid background blog.
The consistent theme blog.
The stripes and dots blog.
And instead of appreciating those sites for what they were
I focused on
what mine was not.
The silly thing is
I still funneled it all back to me.
As if I have some
dangerous
case of selfishness.
Which I have.
Obviously.
And isn’t it hilarious
(or pitiful)
how we can think,
we can believe,
that we are all about others,
that we are all about
giving,
when we are really
all about
us?
And all about
being served?
How we think we are being kind
in some situation
when we are
really
looking out for us?
How we think we are okay
when we really
are
not?

Thank you sweet friend!

Do you want me to do something more fun and exciting for your header? And noticed you got the image on the right. I like it- is that an actual word and definition or did you make it up? Either way, fun. Did you figure it out or get some help?

Oh my goodness!
Emma – your header is perfect! It's the cutest thing my blog has going for it.
I love the header.
I meant all the plain tan and outline and plain fonts all around everywhere else.
Man – now I feel guilty because that is NOT what I meant.
And the word "ballyhoo" is a real world. Kevin put that there for me but I don't know how to put anything else. So – yes, I could still use your help.

I only read one blog faithfully and it's yours. Why? Because glitter and eye candy cannot compare to the sweet honest entries you post and the beautiful faces and stories of your amazing kids. So I hope you never change, 'cause I like how you do what you do 🙂
