kindness is contagious
I am not certain about all that many things in life.
(It’s such a shifting world. Off balance and out of kilter by mid-morning most days.)
But I do know this:
We have a bounty of friends much kinder than we deserve to have.
It’s a special kind of lovely to come home to an empty house after a trip and to see that Love visited while we were gone.
Delicious cinnamon rolls awaiting on the counter. Apples on the table and orange juice in the fridge and a breakfast ready for the next morning – because everyone knows after a trip the cupboards are bare and your resourcefulness is low. The wicked weeds lining our driveway were trimmed, the yard was tidy, the floors were swept. A dinner was prepped and ready too.
Every ounce of kindness and cleanliness and surprise snacks a good measure that we didn’t expect and we can not believe we get to be the recipients of so much thoughtfulness and bursts of kindness.
As much as I know we haven’t done anything worthy to garner this kind of affection from our sweet friends, I also know that kindness is such a contagious gift.
One of the first things my son said, as we wandered our home with shouts of surprise and joy, was, “Mom, this is a great idea! Can we do this for some friends too?”
And so that’s our goal, today. To spread this kind of Happy in the simplest of ways, through provisions and thoughtfulness.
What good friends to show God’s love to us and to use their actions to inspire us to do the same for others. That’s community.

I LOVE the community surrounding you in this season of life. Even more, I love that your children get it and I would bet it all that those friends of yours do too! You work and pray so hard that their tender hearts don’t get bitter given life circumstances and I would say those prayers are working! Great story to start the week off with.

Love this. It’s been my goal as of late to do something nice for somebody whenever I can. I really like this idea.
