five finds friday (avett. curl cream. views.)
This week I used one of my favorite pens until it actually ran out of ink. I didn’t lose it. I just actually used it to its very literal potential and capacity and now it’s gone.
What a good run.
Shockingly enough, I also used up an entire tube of chapstick in the exact same week.
As in, I felt the need for chapstick. I opened up the tube of chapstick only to discover that it was absolutely empty and every bit of its grapefruitness self had been used by one application at a time over the entire summer.
Will you look at that?
What a big week – right?
funny
If you are a Hunger Games fan at all, the Studio C parodies are spot on – well written, clever and oh so funny.
fashionable
I admit, I am a sucker for hair products. And. I am a sucker for cool packaging.
Which is exactly why I was convinced to purchase some Prose curl cream.
The website was very satisfying – lots of questions about your style and your hair needs. Who doesn’t like to feel like their hair products are personalized?
But – talk about customized packaging.
How fun is this little bottle?
faithful
This week I drove into the country with Otto and he and I met up with a former camp summer staffer who grew right into a stellar adult human. (Which I always knew he would.)
This guy loved my kids well. Especially my Bergen, who thought the sun rose and set in Matt. (They had matching outfits and Matt bought Berg his first John Deere toy.)
Matt’s wife also loved my kids well. Cece was London’s summer staffer – attending camp with her. It was pretty special.
Now this sweet sweet couple is helping run a camp here locally and it just makes me all sorts of happy to see this family – yes, they have THREE kids now – thriving and living and celebrating life.
Plus, the views ain’t too bad either.
feels
During quarantine and weird life I’ve been really happy to see that one of my all time favorite bands has used the time create new music.
I feel like we’re all winners when that happens.
Thank you Avett Brothers for creating and producing The Third Gleam. Thank you Apple music for offering a pretty low cost (or “free” with some Verizon plans) way for me to immediately listen to new songs in the easiest sort of way.
I’ve been slowly listening and so far my stand outs are two songs – “Women Like You” and “Untitled #4”. (Which, yeah, kind of makes me laugh since that’s not really any title at all, but whatever.)
(Also and unnecessary. If everyone is allowed a “celebrity” crush, Scott Avett is mine.)
flavorful
It was delicious. It was easy. It was well liked by my people.
That’s all we need, right?
