five finds friday (shimmery skirts & strawberries)
And another week down.
funny
First, look at this adorable tiny Lego washing machine Otto created.
You know what I’m actually missing?
An audience.
Yeah, sure – I’ve got nearly half a dozen people here who could serve as my audience, but truth be told – they’re tired of my jokes.
If they ever thought they were funny to begin with, honestly.
Anyway. I need an audience.
A new one, I guess.
One who thinks I’m funny.
Because, apparently, as my prodigy have informed me, if I have to keep reminding them that I am funny, then perhaps I am not funny after all.
Also. My neighbor told me she was reading a new book and it’s title is one I am going to steal for my future autobiography:
Mistakes Have Been Made, But Not by Me.
flavorful
Strawberry season is in.
One batch of jam has been made and I guess I better go purchase a bunch of Sure jell – is there a limit on those too? – and a whole lotta sugar because we ran out of strawberry jam early last year and I ain’t having none of that this year.
Also, I love strawberry shortcake. And heavy whipping cream for that delicious topping has been hard to come by.
What’s your favorite strawberry treat?
faithful
Spring just doing its job this year has been incredibly hopeful and encouraging to me.
Just spring bringing its beautiful blooms and predictable sunshine and hope.
fashionable
I have never been a ballerina nor had any desire to be one. (I’m just not graceful. I know my limits.)
But, for reasons I cannot understand nor will I try to explain, I have always wanted to wear a tutu kind of skirt. Not exactly a kid’s one, but a longer version of one.
I think the material is so much fun and I want multiple ones in different colors and I want to wear them with t-shirts and Chacos and tank tops and cowboy boots and I know for a fact that these fashion choices will neither fit me as I imagine they will nor look like I hope them to look. And I don’t care.
I want them all.
Should I?
Will you secretly make fun of me when I show up wearing a tutu kind of skirt and a t-shirt? Will it look crazy to be my height but wear mid calf length skirts? (Is quarantine working against your self-esteem too?)
feels
We just received our Okee Dokee Brothers CD in the mail and we are excited!
These fellas have been the background sound track for so many trips, adventures and just regular living parts of our lives.
And the art in this one is sweet.

It sounds weird, but strawberries dipped in sour cream & then brown sugar.

Okay – it does sounds weird. But I’ll try it.
Last week someone suggested I try melted peanut butter on ice cream and so I did.
Seems like the right time to try new things.
