still here …..
After leaving the ranch we spent a pretty glorious and adventure filled couple of days trekking it together through Utah. Over the Rocky Mountains, to a handful of Utah’s famous National Parks.
We spent a day each at Arches, Bryce and Zion and a short spell at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
We saw landscape – in the same state – so varied and distinct and beautiful and stunning that I had a hard time taking it all in. My phone photo storage is at max capacity. (So is my iCloud storage too – is that normal?)
I really want to unpack all we saw and all we did.
I really want to unpack all of our luggage and stuff too.
And I will. Do both. Soon.
But we pulled into our house at 11:58 pm last Saturday night and within about seven minutes of entering the house, my body decided to revolt against me and I spent the next 35 ish hours feeling like a truck was running over me back and forth repeatedly. From the inside. If that’s possible. Which it isn’t. But that’s what it felt like.
I’ll spare you all the details.
But thank the Lord for capable big kids, for good friends, for a grown up daughter, for my own bathroom, for Zofran.
Today I’m sitting up and I’m walking around. I’m tired after short activities but I’m moving. I’m mainly eating applesauce and soup but it’s staying where it’s supposed to stay.
I do not like feeling incapable, incapacitated, unable to work and manage my own life.
And that was a pretty poor welcome home, for sure.
But I am thankful to be home.
Thankful it was just a rotten couple of days.
Thankful that eventually food will taste good again and I will run and jump and skip. (Well, I mean, running is always only ever optional.)
