five finds (asleep with a book, love anyway, i like big sinks)

BREAK WEEK!

Whenever it’s break week I think – how am I still so busy when I removed one gigantic to-do item from my list?

And by the end of break week I’m wondering how I ever have time to actually homeschool my kids.

It’s been a great week – although I could have done without the endless rain.

I had big thoughts for this week.  I always have big thoughts for break weeks.  I dreamed of a two day adventure to Charleston, a day trip to Congaree, time spent in the mountains of North Carolina.

But we pretty much didn’t go farther than fifteen minutes away from our house all week.

Which seems to be what we needed, so it’s fine.

I dug myself out of the hole I had been in with work projects.  I’m not ahead of the game yet.  But I’m longer three weeks behind either.

I laughed with the kids.  Played a couple of games.  Watched far too much TV.  (Parks & Rec.) Baked homemade peppermint patties and banana bread. Rearranged the furniture.

And now I’ve got a couple of finds for this Friday.

funny

This is how I found Piper sleeping this week.

fashionable

At the Drew and Ellie concert this week, they sang a song entitled “Love Anyway”.

I loved the song.  I loved the message.  And I saw that they were selling items with the words “love anyway” on them as we left.  But – I didn’t want to stand in line so I did what people do.

I found the sweatshirt online.

The company is a good company with a great cause and I love the message of the shirt.

Also – you can still order today through my Noonday Trunk Show – so you have this one little window of opportunity!

flavorful

I like guacamole.

That is all.

faithful

Otto loves to check the mail.

He’s assigned himself the task and he takes it rather seriously.

This week, in all this rain, I looked up from my desk and saw his little adorable self scootering through the rain on his mission.

feels

I adore my new sink.

Seriously.  It’s just a sink of course.  But I use it 82,000 times a day.

And here’s what I love about it.

It’s so deep and wonderful.

From a distance, my kitchen counters look tidy and clear.

How wonderful.  Less visual clutter.  Ahh.  What a delight.

But upon walking over closer to the sink, you can see.

An entire dishwasher’s load of dishes is hidden in its deep recesses.

(Why are there so many glasses, for the love???)

But no matter, my good friend Sink is looking out for me.

The countertops were created by Southerland Designs.
That magic sink was at Lowe’s. The brand is Blanco. It comes a variety of colors – although none red. I really wanted a red sink.
