Five Finds Friday (incredible sauce & lifetime friendships)
FUNNY
Our world is full of funny things.
Outside of a store in our little downtown I saw this mannequin with this name tag.
FASHIONABLE
You don’t have to wear all of your fashion, now – do you?
Whatever. I’ll share what I feel like here. I make the rules. (In this tiny square footage, that is. Just here. I make the rules right here. It’s tiny, but it’s mine.)
My friend Beth (who named my bag Sean Penn) is a super talented artist and probably a super talented nurse. I say probably because I’ve seen Beth’s art. Her nursing – well, I’ve never been in her care before (and since I think she works primarily in the pediatrics unit, I kind of hope to never see her at work either.)
Anyway. She recently started an Etsy site. Her penmanship and her art is so lovely. And now YOU can buy it and see it every day in your own real life.
Which you should.
FLAVORFUL
This bolognese recipe – inspired, of course, by mine and London’s recent trip to Cucina 24 in Asheville.
You guys. YOU guys. I’m still dreaming about it. London’s version of this sauce, that is.
And the recipe was so generous in its portions, I put nearly half of it in the freezer for a quick meal in the future.
FAITHFUL
Friendship that lasts nearly twenty-five years. Through crisis and good times.
That’s golden. It’s the Good Stuff, you guys.
It’s the Good Stuff.
FEELS
I just love the art the kids create.
It’s so fabulous.
Have you ever read The Little Prince?
It’s a really touching and quirky story that doesn’t seem to fit really any particular genre. I read it to Bergen when he was a tiny fellow. I loved it so much that I painted quotes from the story onto his bedroom wall right above his little changing station so I could try to remain inspired as I changed poop diapers.
This week we’ve been playing with clay and the kids made lot of little characters. I love that they crafted literary choices of their own free will.

The mannequin is too funny!
Meat sauce in the freezer is like money in the bank. My recipe feeds these two old people eight times! When all else fails we can always eat pasta!
