Win TWO TICKETS to Asheville’s Tree Tops Adventure Park

If you could see me right now you would see me rubbing my hands back and forth together with glee and acting a little giddy.

During this past year the blog has turned into both a therapy session and a review cool products landing spot.  Those opposites have helped clear my brain and feed my heart and provide my family with neat opportunities and supplement my income.

But today I am thrilled and excited because I get to talk about a fun place but YOU get to win tickets to go there!

Last summer the kids and I trekked across our little mountain and spent a day doing super cool stuff in Asheville at the Adventure Center of Asheville.

I wrote all about the KidZip area and the Tree Tops Adventure Park.

We LOVED it.  Otto was the bravest.  He zipped across ahead of all of us.  He laughed and asked for more and higher and harder.  Who is that kid?

When London turned thirteen (!) earlier this summer, she asked if the two of us could return to the Adventure Center and do the Tree Tops Park again – just she and I.  This time we both talked about how we thought we might try some of the harder ropes courses that the younger kids were not allowed to do.  Because of turning the big teenager, London had access to all of the courses at the Tree Tops Park as long as she and I were there together.

The Tree Tops Adventure Park has five different courses of varying levels of challenges – over 30 trees hold 60 challenges that involve hanging or swinging or climbing. You’re completely tethered in the entire time through this really clever system and kids as young as four can join you on the adventure.  But don’t let the young age fool you – adults will be plenty challenged at this park.  PLENTY, I tell you.

London and I started out with a strong game, conquering the first course pretty well but quickly recalling what was actually so challenging about this tree top experience.  The tree tops!  As in – you are IN the tree tops and that’s scary!  It’s so high and although you know you can trust the harnessing system, it’s still a mind game to really wade out there on tight ropes and thin wires and swinging obstacles all up high and alone and stuff.

After two courses I really tried to convince London to join me for the next level up.

The kid knows what she knows though and felt confident in her decision to do another round of one of the courses she had already completed.  I decided to take my chances and risk the next level.  Climbing up another story higher before I even began made me question my choice.  Then stepping out on a kayak like four stories up in the sky and rowing through the AIR really made me doubt my sanity.

About halfway through this particular ropes course I was pretty much ready to get down.  (Wait – will that be a selling point for you guys?  Maybe not – but this is the truth!)  I was questioning my sanity when my size 9 Chuck Taylors were shaking on the single wire I was supposed to tread across to reach my next little tree.  You guys – one of the challenges had me going down a purple slide into NOTHING.  That’s right.  The slide is attached to a tree where I climb onto it.  Then it just goes off INTO THE THIN AIR.  (Yeah, sure – a zip line catches me and coasts me over to my next switching station, but I was still FALLING OFF A SLIDE INTO NOTHING for a few seconds.)

Turns out there were two other challenging ropes courses that were deemed even more demanding than the one I barely struggled my sorry scared self though.  Yeah, I skipped those this time ’round.  But YOU don’t have to when you go.

That’s right!

It’s such a fun giveaway here today!
