Five Finds Friday (eighteen) (throw blankets & maple bars & authors)
FUNNY
Living with Ryder is often like living with a toddler. A toddler who reminds me daily of a rug. A moving rug.
Last night he drank too much water before bed and had to go outside several times during the middle of the night. Also, at least twice he fell out of the bed.
FASHIONABLE
This is all about marketing right here.
(Thanks Amy for alerting me to this one.)
Here’s a nice little blanket for camping and for picnics.
It’s cute.
I like it.
But.
After seeing what the geniuses at REI named it, I suddenly think I MUST own it.
They’re calling it the Henry David Throw.
Perfection.
FLAVORFUL
Honestly, I don’t know if this will be flavorful yet or not – but I’m planning on making these maple bars with my gas station sugar camp maple syrup.
My thought is pairing them – still warm – with homemade vanilla ice cream.

FEELS
After I wrote my book review about the young adult novel Homecoming I felt compelled to send an e-mail to the novel’s author, Cynthia Voigt.
It was specific and sincere and I meant every word I said.
I pressed “send” and that was that.
Absolutely zero expectations were held by me in any regards to that e-mail.
But guess what?
She wrote back to me! An engaging and kind and thoughtful e-mail that made me feel heard and valued and connected to this prolific and talented author who has spent her days doing what I can only imagine spending my days doing.
It was a good e-mail day, you guys. A very good e-mail day.
