A Weekend Round Up and A Tiny Music Giveaway
So much happening in the past few days.
An overload of fun and friends.
Some long time buddies trekked it over from Charlotte and we all met at our favorite apple orchard and picked apples – en masse!
The next day our family loaded a bunch of those North Carolina apples in the car to share the love and drove to the peach state.
We enjoyed dinner with some sweet and generous friends. (Truly. We live in a wealth of blessings to have so many kind and generous friends.) The kids stayed with them whilst Kevin and I ventured into the big city to meet our pals Nate and Laura for a concert featuring the fabulous Wood Brothers. (What’s not to like about brothers playing and singing together?)
The band was truly incredible. Seriously talented musicians. However – we did stand for the entire show and for pretty much the entire show my view was primarily of this unusually tall man in a bright peachy colored shirt who had no sense of his size and anyone’s overall personal space.
At least I could hear the terrific music when all I could see was his peach back.
In our endless good times we next went to visit more lovely friends – Tyler and Amy – where we continue to be outnumbered by our offspring.
But they sure are all cute together.
The kids enjoyed sword fighting and swimming and we even had the pleasure of watching young Baylor compete in a soccer game. It’s always so special to have the privilege of watching a family take shape and knowing a couple even before they were a couple and then seeing their children grow up to look a bit like miniature thems.
I like when that happens.
The traffic on our return trip was the worst it’s ever been. We made it through with the tunes of The Wood Brothers.
You guys – they are really just so good.
You should go listen to lots of their music – but one song in particular is just poetic and tender to me and I keep listening to it over and over. It’s called The Muse.
You know what?
I like you guys so much and I like this song so much that I think I should help you get together.
I’m going to give one of you this song.
Yep. A tiny little prize for a Monday morning.
All you have to do is leave a comment telling me what song you’ve been listening to all weekend and I’ll draw one of your names and send you a little iTunes gift of The Wood Brothers’ The Muse.
(And it’s okay if your song for the weekend was silence – or laughter. Just leave a comment anyway!)
In your free time today you should watch the band’s video for the song. It’s a nostalgic one – and that’ll get you every time.
Have a great Monday friends!

Would you believe me if I said I have been listening and dancing to Turn Down for What by Lil Jon and DJ Snake? I like to pretend I am a hip hop dancer. Sad story.
