you know, this and that
It sort of feels like fall outside.
And I’m completely fine with that.
Last weekend Kevin and the boys had a fabulous little jaunt to a lake in Tennessee where they met Kevin’s dad and a captain with a boat and spent the day fishing together.
Those two fellas of ours have just been infatuated with fishing for months now.
They trade lures daily and have all kinds of endless conversations about riggings and baits and hooks and I don’t even know what else in their fishing lingo.
It’s adorable.
The girls and I stayed home.
Apparently, a girls weekend at home means lots of food.
Seriously. It was crazy, guys.
For dinner I allowed us to eat popcorn, ice cream and cupcakes.
I’m not even kidding.
On Saturday we had these tasty little cream cheese crescents for breakfast.
Aren’t they lovely?
For lunch – just because we could – we had pancakes.
Good thing we aren’t gluten free. It was more like gluten overload.
They were the fluffiest pancakes I’ve ever made.
And London insisted on doing some food photography styling with the perfect pat of butter and the dripping syrup.
That kid’s got a future in food. For better or worse.
It’s a little odd to have kids old enough to have a separate boys or girls weekend.
I think I keep forgetting that my kids are just growing right up.
Last week London started talking about youth group at church.
I covered my ears and ran out of the room. (I think that was the appropriate response.)
