HomeSchooling

everything.

Yesterday we spent the entire afternoon at a friend’s house.

The kids played peacefully the entire time.

Inside.  Outside. In the hammock.  On the grass.  On the floor.  Reading books.  Laughing.  Exploring.

Waffles.  Strawberries.  Sunshine.  Popcorn.  Frozen yogurt.  Sun tea.

It was just so darn pleasant.

The little girls were princesses, played princesses, dressed princesses.

Piper Finn wore the sweetest crown made just for her.

Books were read.

My friend Jo taught London and Mosely (and me) how to finger knit.

And the girls are wild about their new skill.

(They stayed in bed last night and created long long long strings of finger knitted doll scarves and garlands and ropes.  They’re beautiful.)

And the boys?

Oh my.

Hawkeye found a kindred buddy.  A lover of bugs and birds and bow and arrows.

A fan of outdoor adventures and indoor book reading.

When I tucked Berg in last night I asked him,  “So, what did you enjoy most with your buddy today?”

And he said the best answer possible.

“Everything.”

Sun Tea… mmm… Did you know that Mike had never heard of it until I made it for him the summer that we moved into our house!? Sad huh?

I am sort of new to sun tea myself, actually. And this had mint in it – which I am so trying.
I meant to try it today actually, but completely forgot!

    Sounds like an awesome day!

I'm curious about this finger knitting stuff. I've never heard of it before. I've always wanted to learn how to knit. Is it easier than regular knitting?

Well, I am sure it is easier than regular knitting, however, you can pretty much only make long strands of knitted stuff – nothing wider than your fingers! 🙂

love the crown! and fingerknitting is just the bee's knees over here! Looks and sounds like there is some Waldorf action at that house! So glad you had a great day!
