HomeLife,  Piper Finn Willow

True That Finnian.

We are packing, albeit incredibly slowly.

(Today I packed one box.  One box.  That’s the kind of progress I’m making over here ya’ll.)

As we pack we find ourselves running across memories that have been sitting on a shelf for several years.

The teddy bear crafted from my grandmother’s favorite blue bath robe.  The tie-dyed onesie London wore home from the hospital.  My dad’s childhood wind-up bear.  My mom’s faded red leather bible.

I’ve been sharing stories with the kids as we find each little treasure.

And they, in turn, have been sharing stories with one another.

As we recounted days of their toddlerhood, Mosely repeated a story about my mom that she has heard repeated many times to her.

I’m so grateful that my mother was able to know Riley, London, Mosely and Bergen.

We were all sharing memories of  my mom when Piper chimed in with a little bit of sweet wisdom.

Piper Finnian, who was born on my mother’s birthday the first summer after my mom passed away, said,

“I miss your mommy too.

Because she never even got to know me.

And because she never got to know me then she never got to love me.”

I am sure your kids will be just as sweet and fun!

And Aeropostale? I know – isn't that crazy?

However, for the record, I have never entered said store to purchase my eight-year-old anything. This sweatshirt is a slightly too-large hand-me-down from Riley who received it as hand-me-down from her friend.

I did not steal your mascara, Maggie 🙂

Your mom was amazing. And I believe Miss Piper will one day get to spend eternity with your mom and share all the love there:)

Love you bunches!! G (Oh, and by the way……today Marco Polo appeared in our studies……ch. 58 of our Children's History of the World……….so may I ask………..did you find anything else to add????…………interesting guy…….I guess a good story teller!) So, sorry I told you like a day or go or something to go play in a pool! Silly me, should have known better!!! 🙂

We sometimes read that book too.
I did find a couple of cool activity books to go with it at the library.
Your pool idea was funny though! 🙂

There is a reason for everything. "How does Maggie know this?" You might ask. I either forgot my mascara at my parents house this weekend or a sisters' sticky fingers took it home with her. Thus I am mascaraless. One piece of makeup that I believe is a staple in my artificalizing routine. Thanks for the cry Lacey, it is ok because I am not wearing mascara. Your mom was an amazing woman!

I didn't steal your mascara despite losing my own earlier that week.I don't think Abbey stole it either because she snuck mascara into mom's grocery cart after forgetting hers as well. Maybe God doesn't want Wickstrum girls to wear mascara. Its not like it helps our short stubby eyelashes anyways…or is that just me that got the non existent eyelash gene.

I think it's hilarious that Abbey is a grown up and still sneaks items into her mom's grocery cart. Ahhh – that's fantastic!
