crayon art
There once was a wedding of two people our family loves.
And Bergen wanted to help make their gift.
Enter Pinterest.
And don’t forget – gifts need to be on the Low to No train too.
We found an idea over there and turned it into our own creation. (All mockingbird style – right?)
We started with a blank canvas and hot glued rows of similarly colored crayons across the canvas.
We chose reds and pinks because they are the color of love – right? (But as we quickly ran out of those colors we tossed in a few purples as well.)
I printed the letters before we began the next process.
The next step was right up Bergen’s alley.
Turn on the hair dryer and melt the mess out of those crayons.
Just melt and melt until the color runs in a manner in which makes you happy.
Our hair dryer was slow or we had a lot of crayons or something but the melting part took Berg and I about forty-five minutes in total.
But, seriously, it couldn’t have been simpler to accomplish.
However, from simple beginnings can come great things
And the end result is so stinkin’ cute.

SO fun! Maybe we'll do this to use up our bucket o' broken crayons. 🙂

Broken ones would work I am sure but the whole ones made a better beginning line.
Although I am certain you can make a cool variety of this with broken ones too.

I made them a pinterest gift too! From now on people will be receiving home made gifts from pinterest.

And they should.
I want to receive pinterest-inspired gifts as well.
