a fairytale
Once upon a time (about four days ago) we embarked upon an epic journey. (We drove to Georgia.)
Where we stayed with two princesses (Lindsey and Rachael) in their castle (an apartment with the red door that matched the other twenty-five red doors).
Our chariot (a scruffed up maroon Suburban) lead us to a raging river (a pleasant, wide stream) where we discovered the fountain of youth (a refreshing place to splash and play).
After we partook of the fountain and gained our eternal youth (splashed until we were soaking wet from head to toe and all felt like kids), we traversed through many perils and obstacles (sink holes, deeper water than anticipated, slippery banks) back to our resting chariot (the dusty aforementioned waiting Suburban).
Due to the condition of our royal robes and our servants’ lack of preparation (everyone’s clothes were dripping and we forgot to bring any extra attire) the young dukes and duchesses (my children) were forced to adorn their bodies with the emperor’s new clothes (they stripped off every article of clothing and sat in the car without proper attire or any attire at all).
The evening found us enjoying a feast at a king’s table (sharing delicious Mellow Mushroom pizza at a restaurant in a restored old home). After which we returned to the castle and formed a quiet and organized meeting of the minds (we spread out sleeping bags, wrestled around the floor and watched a few movies before crashing into sleep in a giant pile of pillows and bodies).
The end.
