the daily struggle
Oh you guys.
I just cannot keep up.
It’s
teaching five kids school, feeding seven people three meals a day, maintaining my little side online job, doing laundry for seven people, sleeping, reading, living
that’s really keeping me busy friends.
I’m not complaining.
More like explaining.
(I just hope you all will still like me and drop by and visit and read my currently sporadic posts.)
Balance is the goal all the time.
Right?
Well.
I’m trying.
And some days I’m thriving and some days I’m falling on my face and some days I’m treading water and some days all three.
I’m guessing most of you understand.
It’s fall though.
Autumn, if you prefer.
(And I do.)
It’s gorgeous out of doors and I should be there with a much greater frequency.
We tried chocolate ice cream this week in our magic ice cream maker and it was a wild success!
The windows here have been opened and the temperature is dreamy.
I think life is basically unpredictable – don’t you?
And sometimes scattered
and sometimes bewildering
but a gift despite all of that.
I think my writing today is as scattered as life
and my thoughts feel unruly
and I’m dragging you along for the ride.

I *know* in the moment it can all seem a little overwhelming!! However, cherish the moments, in no time at all you will be looking back on memories. It is the memories that all of you will value and carry for your life times!! You appear to be doing a fabulous job with loving and making those special times for your family!! Soon they will all be able to do more to share your responsibilities and it will be more team work!!
We love watching your posts…….. Once when mine were quite young I had a friend come up with a great idea. She recruited 6 other friends and once a week we all would make one huge meal that could be split 7 times. Then we met at a home on Saturday and traded portions. We all ended up with meals for the week and only had to prepare one….it was fun!! Just a thought to pass on. Blessings to you all!

Thank you for your sweet comments. And I love the cooking together idea!
I have so enjoyed the gorgeous Virginia pictures your daughter has been sharing – it’s such a beautiful place to begin their lives together!

I’m sure you’ve heard the quote that says: “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time”.”
Well similarly I have to (daily) remind myself that “I can do some of the things all of the time, all of the things some of the time, but never all of the things all of the time.” And that is just fine. We are hardest on ourselves and sometimes have to be reminded to give ourselves a break and just enjoy life.
And I will always still like you and drop by to see what’s going on 🙂
And also yes, we should get together soon!

Perfectly wise quote. 🙂
Thank you for sharing.
Yes and yes to getting together.
