Elly: A Giveaway!

Remember the cousins I mentioned a few weeks ago?

They were our comfortable starting point on our northern adventure and our soft landing spot on our winding journey back home again.

The whole clan – the whole giant mess of them – are just fabulous humans.

On the family tree they are my cousins through my father – his sister’s family.  Growing up we spent Thanksgivings together on the farm.  They were my favorite of the kid cousins.  (Don’t worry Sherry – your spot is still safe too – but you were a grown up cousin!)  I loved their visits – seeing their van or camper or whatever conveyance they chose that year pull up at the end end of our dusty mile-long driveway.  They would all pile out – seven kids strong – and I thought they were like art and a magic show and a bakery all rolled up into one happy package.  They brought crusty fruit-filled pies and homemade bread and laughter and a song.  I grew up in a house where my mom fell in love with Betty Crocker and hamburger helper and she traded jobs with me so she could feed the calves if I cooked the dinners.  These cousins homeschooled and I couldn’t imagine what that looked like back then.  (I thought it was other-worldy and a little weird.  Isn’t life so so comical?)

I loved them as kids and I like them as grown ups even more.

They’re all great – but this post is pretty much just about one.

My cousin Bethany.

She has five children and she homeschools them and she is beautiful and thoughtful and well-spoken and passionate and hospitable and if you met her – well, you’d love her too.

And.

She has her own business.

It’s named after her two daughters – Elly – and she crafts beyond-organic natural bath and beauty products.

When we stayed at their lovely home (with a floor plan that just speaks of comfort and family) I had the opportunity to try just about every product.

Standing at the sink I tried the hand fluff – I like the name and I particularly liked the lemon/lavender scent.  It felt wonderful – not greasy, just light.

In the shower I couldn’t resist trying the decadent sugar scrub.  I can’t recall the scent but I think it was the inspire one.  And it worked as a great shaving cream too.  I’m literally going to order some for myself when I finish typing this blog post.  (I hope when you read the word literally you read it in the same voice that Rob Lowe’s character on Parks & Rec says it.)

I used the body milk more times than I can count.

I liked these next little guys so much that I brought home a stack of these super fun sunflower shea sticks for my buddies.  I love the shape of these and I find that I am using this one daily for chap stick and for soothing Mosely’s frequently sensitive skin.  Seriously – and you should know – I liked them so much I paid for them!

I also purchased the body butter for our family in the vibrant scent because it has a strong citrus-y smell that’s not girly at all.

Yes – I tossed in with my purchases the lip balms  – several of them – because the cost is so low and the product is so perfect.  I love the mint flavored one but I am especially fond of the very subtle sheen and color in the other varieties.  Just the right amount of color for a non-make-up wearing girl like me.

Bethany offered me a little perfume to take along to try out – she said she had developed it when a friend of hers was struggling with finding any scent that didn’t severely irritate her husband’s allergies and sensitivities.  This one worked for her friend!  I do not care for heavy scented sticky-sweet smelling perfumes.  They are just too much.  This is lovely – I’ve been carrying it in my bag and applying it liberally.  Such a pleasant scent – first perfume I have ever truly liked other than simple sprays of mixed essential oils.

Okay – so I am gushing a bit and maybe starting to sound like an infomercial.

I’m mostly okay with that.

She’s my cousin.  I think she’s deserving of the praise.  Plus – her products are really that good.

But I don’t want to just tell you all about Elly and leave you hanging.

I want to give you some good stuff too.

Yes.

GIVE.

Isn’t that a fun word?

I have a little brown box of goodness that Bethany put together for me to GIVE to YOU!

It’s a little treasure of inspire for you – an inspire-scented creamy body butter AND a inspire-secented foaming milk bath.  A little luxury waiting right there for you.

Here’s how you get the good stuff ….

For one entry – Leave a comment below letting me know which Elly product appeals most to you.

For an additional entry – Like Elly’s Facebook page and come back and tell me that you did.  (If you have already “liked” the page – let me know that too!)

I’ll keep this contest open until Tuesday night and then I’ll ask some cute kid that lives with me to pick a name at random.  And the spoils go to the victor!

Good luck friends – I think you’ll like this package a lot!

I’m a sucker for packaging, and that is pretty packaging.

I’ve never had a foaming milk bath before. And, since I’m a terrible procrastinator, I’m entering the drawing the day after it was supposed to be done! But i also liked Elly’s page.

The body milk looks wonderful! I actually ended up making a small order after reading your blog but I would love to be able to try more. I’m glad that you shared about her business!
I also liked her Facebook page.

I think the Body Butter sounds divine, but I love smell of lavender so the lemon lavender Hand Fluff sounds appealing too. All of her products look great. I hope to give them a try. I liked the page. Come on big money, this Mama need some pampering! 😉

Oh man. Pick just one? I would have to go with the body butter. We go through loads of that stuff at our house. Gunnar particularly has sensitive skin, so knowing that this won’t irritate his skin would inspire me to purchase that item.

I also liked her Facebook page.

Also, I am already a Facebook fan of hers. :o)
Do you think she might consider branching out into hair care?

    • laceykeigley

Haircare? Hmmm. That’s a good idea – I’ll ask her. It is hard to find good hair care products that you can feel okay about using.

I’m having a hard time deciding between the hand fluff or the hand and body milk. Both names sound decadent and moisturizing. I love the website! Very tasteful and a bit fancy. :o)

    Liked her on Facebook!
One product? Seriously, they all sound great and after reading your blog, I may want to buy one of everything. The lip gloss is something I’m with you on, hate lipstick, love my cherry flavored chapstick, but would definitely try this! Hand fluff, looks delightful, and the sugar scrub?! Yes please.

I like the sound of the Shea sticks. We have frequent dry skin and chapped lips. I am going to like her page right now!

  • Jessica

The sunflower Shea stick sounds interesting to try. Will definitely have to check out her products and give them a try.

  • Sarah

I liked her fb page. All the products look and sound amazing. You are a skilled saleswoman. 🙂 I have really struggle finding any perfume/ scent that my husband can tolerate. I also would love to try the lip balms. I hope I can make some purchases soon.

    • laceykeigley

If you see me around town you can try out the perfume! It’ll probably be in my bag still! 🙂

i liked her facebook page, checked out her website and can’t wait to order. i’m not even sure where i’ll start, but most likely for the hand fluff and lip balm . . . i’m always in need of both.

    • laceykeigley

I did sniff a lot of them. I think the inspire is light but sort of floral. That’s not my best description though – I’ll work on that one. :-0

  • Lana

These products are right in line with what we use in our home everyday. They all sound wonderful! Thanks for the giveaway!

    • laceykeigley

I liked that about them too. I am already buying natural products at Whole Foods or elsewhere – I’d rather buy from someone I know and someone who a vested interest in making quality products.

  • Erin

I like the lip balms. I think partly because I really like lip balm and partly because I am in need of a really good lip balm. Thank you for the give away. How fun!
