Location, Location, Location

They are right.

Those cliche writers are right.

Those real estate gurus know what they are talking about.

It’s all about location, location, location.

Today I served my kids a hodge podge, mostly boring though basically nutritious, type of lunch.

But here’s the thing.

They loved it.

They devoured it.

They thanked me for my offerings, meager though they were.

They said everything was delicious.

They asked for more.

Literally, among six children, there was not even one complaint.

And listen . . . .

here’s what was on the menu.

Peanut butter crackers.  Raisins.  Bananas.  Applesauce.  Grape juice.

That is it.

No fancy cups.

We didn’t even have plates.

But the Keigley kids (and me too) were all reminded of a basic truth that I learned way back when while growing up on my family’s dairy farm.

All food tastes better by a stream.

If you are eating outside then anything you toss down is a picnic and therefore is amazing.

I’m pretty sure it’s a lesson we won’t be forgetting soon.

Because I plan to take this band on many more adventures such as this before summer ends.

(And the clean up is a piece of cake too!)

Ohhh, that looks like a nice stream too. Is it close by to you? I agree, nice location! We had a picnic today too at the park and then went to the pool. 🙂

      Sort of near us.
I think we drove maybe half an hour or so.
We were exploring so I am not entirely sure of how long it would actually take if I had chosen a direct path! 😉

And now, as I sit in a church gym scarfing my lunch before my next session, I suddenly want to be by a stream. Thanks, Lacey. (No, really–thanks for both your deighfully simple and profoundly compelling posts. They're one of the highlights of my day.) 🙂
